Development Studies is an academic discipline that embraces problem-oriented and cross-disciplinary studies, utilizing more than one discipline, including multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary approaches, and drawing on diverse theoretical and practical perspectives.
It encompasses theory (i.e., abstract concepts, theories, and frameworks), research (i.e., systematic studies and publications), and practice (i.e., programs/policies, and implementations/applications) at local, national, and global levels to enhance and advance the collective development.

I am an academic and intellectual, not a politician or theologian. I argue based on rationale and reasonable justifications rather than simply accepting dogma. If they think I am wrong, then prove me, and I will listen; this is the essence of being a scholar (Brillo 2025).
